Groundwater
Conference. The conference will take place from September 16 through September
19, 2001 at the Fairmont Palliser hotel in downtown Calgary.
Calgary in September is the place to be. The weather is pleasant
(usually mild and sunny!), the mountains are beautiful, and the trees are
turning colour.
Calgary is the place to be. The Conference Organizers have developed
unparalleled technical and social programs. As of early May, approximately 250
technical presentations are planned, covering all aspects of geotechnical
engineering and hydrogeology. For the first time, the IAH/Groundwater Technical
sessions will be fully integrated into the Geotechnical Engineering sessions to
provide the opportunity for a truly joint conference.
Calgary is the place to be for continuing education opportunities.
Besides the full technical program, four short courses, two tours, and one
workshop are planned for the Saturday and Sunday preceding the conference.
Calgary is the place to be for networking and socializing. The
Conference social program will be outstanding. From the Ice Breaker on Sunday
evening through the Conference Banquet on Tuesday, opportunities will abound for
reconnecting with old friends and making new friendships. For the first time,
the conference will include three lunches (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday).
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, and all members of the southern Alberta
geotechnical and hydrogeological communities, we invite you to Calgary. It is
the place to be!
