O’Connor Associates Environmental Inc. is a leading geoenvironmental engineering and geoscientific consulting firm. We are currently looking for experienced environmental field technicians to work out of our Calgary office. Preference will be given to those with 5+ years of direct experience working at upstream oil sites. A diploma from a program such as Civil, Geological, Groundwater, Environmental, Hydrogeology, Bioresources, or other related fields would be a good fit.
The successful candidate will receive appropriate training in all of our field procedures. An organized, hands-on person with good communication skills, problem solving capability, the ability to work independently and to multi-task would be a good fit for this type of work. Experience with drilling and groundwater monitoring well installation and the supervision of remedial excavations is required. A company vehicle will be provided and a great deal of out-of-town work and travel will be required, therefore a valid driver’s license is mandatory.
Reporting to various project managers, the duties for this full-time position will involve:
soil and groundwater sampling;
site investigations and remediation programs, including drilling and excavations;
equipment installation, monitoring and maintenance;
environmental monitoring of subsurface conditions;
maintenance of field documentation;
entry and routine analysis of field and laboratory data.
