In one of our risk assessment projects, O'Connor Associates collected a soil gas sample from beneath the floor of an industrial building that overlies a plume of groundwater impacted by trichloroethylene, cis-1,2-dichloroethylene and vinyl chloride. The sampling was conducted as part of a risk management plan that allows continued use of the property without conducting expensive remediation. The risk management plan was developed based on analyses of the groundwater, soil gas and indoor air quality, combined with contaminant fate and transport modelling and a site specific risk assessment.
